Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 16, 2026

1. Introduction

poly ("the App") is an iOS camera application developed and maintained by Giuseppe Cosenza (hello@giusscos.com). This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles information when you use it. We are committed to protecting your privacy and designed poly to work locally on your device without collecting personal data.

2. Information We Collect

poly does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. Specifically:

  • We do not create user accounts or require registration.
  • We do not embed any analytics SDK (such as Firebase, Mixpanel, or Amplitude).
  • We do not use advertising identifiers (IDFA or IDFV) for tracking purposes.
  • We do not share any data with third-party advertisers.

All media you capture — photos, videos, and time lapses — is stored only on your device or, optionally, in your personal iCloud account. We never access, upload, or process your media on our servers because we do not operate any servers that handle user content.

3. Camera & Microphone Access

poly requires access to your device's camera and microphone to provide its core functionality — capturing photos, recording videos, and creating time lapses. iOS will prompt you to grant these permissions the first time the App needs them.

All camera and microphone data is processed locally on your device in real time. No audio or video stream is ever transmitted to us or any third party. You can revoke these permissions at any time in Settings › poly

4. Photo Library

When you choose to save a photo, video, or time lapse from poly, the App requests permission to write to your Photo Library. This access is used solely to save your content to your Camera Roll. The App does not read or scan your existing photos.

You can manage this permission in Settings › Privacy & Security › Photos.

5. iCloud Sync

poly offers an optional iCloud sync feature that allows your polaroid library to be accessible across your Apple devices. This feature is:

  • Entirely optional — it is off unless you enable it.
  • Controlled by you through the App's settings.
  • Governed by Apple's iCloud Terms and Conditions, not by poly

We have no access to any data stored in your iCloud account. iCloud data is encrypted and managed entirely by Apple.

6. In-App Purchases

Premium features are available via Apple's In-App Purchase system (StoreKit). All payment processing is handled exclusively by Apple. We never see, receive, or store your payment card details, billing address, or any other financial information. For questions about billing, please contact Apple Support or visit Settings › Apple ID › Subscriptions.

7. Location Data

poly may optionally embed GPS coordinates as metadata (EXIF data) in polaroid photos, if you grant location permission and enable this feature. This metadata is stored locally within the photo file on your device. The App does not transmit location data to us or any server.

You can control location access in Settings › Privacy & Security › Location Services › poly

8. Children's Privacy

poly is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at hello@giusscos.com and we will take steps to delete such information.

9. Third-Party Services

poly uses only the following Apple-provided services, which are covered by Apple's own privacy policies:

  • Apple StoreKit — processes in-app purchases and subscriptions.
  • Apple iCloud — optional sync of your polaroid library (user-controlled).

No third-party analytics, crash-reporting, advertising, or social-media SDKs are integrated into the App.

10. Data Retention

Because all data resides on your device or in your personal iCloud account, data retention is entirely in your control:

  • Deleting a photo in poly removes it from the App's library.
  • Uninstalling poly removes all locally-stored App data from your device.
  • To remove iCloud copies, disable iCloud sync in the App settings and delete the App's iCloud data in Settings › Apple ID › iCloud › Manage Storage.

11. Your Rights

Since poly does not collect or process personal data on our servers, there is no centralized data to access, export, or erase on your behalf. Your data rights are exercised directly on your device:

  • Delete photos and videos within the App or your Photo Library.
  • Revoke camera, microphone, photo library, or location permissions in iOS Settings.
  • Remove iCloud data by disabling iCloud sync and clearing App storage in iCloud settings.
  • Uninstall the App to remove all local App data.

If you have questions about your data, contact us at hello@giusscos.com.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of poly after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
